Hasata set out with the aim of creating a consumer-oriented brand that offers added value to the rice & pulses market, and the brand strategy of Hasata was created with the Consumer Attitudes and Usage Habits and Consumer Expectations Research conducted in the Grain and Pulses category.
Different seeds for all products were submitted for consumer testing and accordingly a product portfolio was created with the most preferred seeds.
Starting with the logo, all critical brand components including the format and design of the packaging have been validated by consumer testing.
Consequently a brand infrastructure has been created that fully meets the expectations of the consumer under 4 main headings: Naturalness and Confidence, Taste and Cooking Performance, Freshness and Protection, Ease of Use and Storage.
The name Hasata is derived from the word “hasat” which means harvest. In the consumer tests conducted after the logo design, it has become a brand name as it was appreciated as a word associated with natural, timely and freshly harvested crop, since it emphasizes the "harvest" season.
At Hasata, the first sign of the quality of our products is the quality of the seeds we use.
The seeds of our Hasata products are carefully selected from among many seed alternatives through the research of our expert staff and consumer tests.
Hasata ensures that the best quality and original grain and pulses seeds are planted in the most ideal region in Turkey, and offers the crop of the same harvest to its consumers 100% homogeneously in the same package.
The most ideal selections were made on a product basis, such as the original baldo seed for rice, the Ancient Khorasan Wheat for bulgur, and the geographically marked Derinkuyu White Bean which is sown with the same seed every year, for beans.
Carefully selected seeds are transformed into True to Seed, Authentic Tastes by being planted in regions where soil, weather and agricultural conditions are most suitable for the relevant product with the contribution of the most ideal agricultural conditions.
Hasata preserves all the goodness and flavor of pulses and grains from seed to table. Thus, it is able to maintain the visual characteristics, nutritional value and taste of grains and pulses for generation after generation. It brings back to life the true to seed, authentic tastes that the consumer longs for.
On the back of our packaging, we refer to our traditional dishes with the statement: “With pulses and grains which constitute a significant part of our rooted traditional cuisine, you can now share with your beloved ones at your own table the True to Seed, Authentic Tastes which our grandparents used to enjoy.”
Having originated more than 4,000 years ago, the Ancient Grain Khorasan Wheat, (Triticum turgidum spp. Turanicum), is an ancient unhybrid wheat native to Asia and Egypt.
It is believed to have originated in the region called the "fertile crescent" in the Middle East and was named after the Persian province of Khorasan located in what is today northern Iran. The name Khorasan means "the place where the sun comes" in Persian.
In addition to being an ancient grain that has been preserved free of hybridization, it has 30% higher protein content than modern wheats and has a unique flavor. It is nutritious with its structure rich in fiber and minerals.
The golden grains of Khorasan Wheat are three times the size of modern wheat. It is known for its distinctive, nutty-sweet flavor.
We produce Hasata Khorasan Bulgur from Khorasan Wheat.
While Khorasan was the name of a very large geographical region that was located in the northeast of Iran in the past, today the territory of that region is divided into three parts, which are located within the borders of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Iran.
Although the origin of Khorasan Wheat is the Fertile Crescent, like all wheats, there is information that it later was most grown in Khorasan thanks to its soil and climate structure, hence the name Khorasan. (Khorasan was known as a wheat storehouse in the Middle Ages).
Derived from the word “kıdem” meaning “of old, anteriority”, the word “Kadim” means “ancient; one that the origin of which is found in the depths of the past, dating back many centuries.”
It has been registered under Kadim® sub-brand with the guarantee that the Ancient Grain Khorasan Wheat will remain unchanged and will be grown with the same properties as thousands of years ago under our control. Bulgur produced from Kadim® Horasan Wheat by Hasata will continue to preserve its nutritional value and taste that it has had for thousands of years.
According to the consumer researches, the most common problems in packaging has been determined that there is tearing when opening, spilling while using and storing, and transfer to the jar due to the need for clips/rubbers to keep it in its own package.
Our Ziplocked Packaging has gained admiration by the consumers with parameters such as being easily opened, no tearing when opening, the ability to be closed and stored in its own package, the product can be seen clearly on the shelf through the large window on the front and side, easy stacking in the pantry and its elegance.
Moth infestation is the most mentioned problem in the pulses category. It has been observed that solutions such as putting salt, garlic and bay leaves in the product have been developed in order to avoid moth infestation, and the necessity of storing them in the refrigerator, especially in summer, is one of the consumer complaints.
For this reason, in the process of packaging Hasata products, we subject them to a Controlled Atmosphere process, which is a completely natural method. Thanks to Controlled Atmosphere Technology, we prevent moth infestation by packing the products after keeping them under regulated oxygen ratio conditions. In this way, we ensure that the Hasata products which we produce carefully are delivered with their freshness and taste preserved until they are consumed.
Weevils can be prevented through intervention in the invisible spawning stage before the larvae are formed in pulses.
Controlled Atmosphere Technology, which is a completely natural method, is based on reducing the oxygen required for the formation of weevils and replacing it with gases (carbon dioxide) in the atmosphere.
In Hasata production, the products are kept under pressure in the carbon dioxide tank for 4 to 7 days before packaging. It is a 99% guaranteed natural method that does not affect the taste and smell of the product.
Out of Hasata products, rice is processed and packaged in our Bandırma Factory, bulgur in our Gaziantep Factory, and pulses in our Mersin Factory; all with fully automatic machines.
